Real-time Temperature and Humidity Monitoring for Medical Warehouse

In the storage warehouse of medical supplies, strict temperature and humidity control is very important for ensuring qualified long-term storage and product quality. Along with the development and forward of the technology, more and more medical warehouses start to adopt online real-time temperature and humidity monitoring systems, meeting the requirements of government projects, and complying with international standards and regulations.

Among various brands of the temperature monitors, Freshliance COEUS-WIFI real-time temperature and humidity data logger stands out, and was successfully applied in an Indonesian warehouse project of medical supplies. It was proposed by local Indonesian partner for project bidding and finally won the tender. The project was commissioned by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and involved the integration of our Real-time Temperature and Humidity Monitoring solution with the local SMILE system. This project’s success is strategically significant, bringing more interests and inquiries from the Indonesian market, and drawing cold chain industry attentions.

Core Requirements of Medical Supplies Warehouses

Medical supply warehouses usually store pharmaceuticals, medical consumables, medical equipment, and medical parts and accessories, etc., which require stricter temperature and humidity control.

  • First, 24/7 uninterrupted real-time monitoring of temperature and humidity

This is to prevent medical supplies from becoming ineffective or being scrapped due to abnormal environment.

  • Second, remote real-time data access

Connect the real-time temperature and humidity data logger with WiFi network inside the warehouse for automatic data transmission, eliminating manual checks.

  • Third, integrated with SMILE system (Sistem Monitoring Inventaris Logistik Kesehatan secara Elektronik), which is developed and operated by the Ministry of Health of the

Republic of Indonesia, UNDP Indonesia and Gavi and other international partners for digital monitoring and management of vaccines and medical logistics and supply chain.

  • Fourth, alarm notification

The temperature alarm range inside the warehouse is regularly set to be 2 to 8℃, and the real-time temperature alarm is required to send alarm signal once the detected temperature goes below 2℃ or over 8℃.

  • Finally, other alarm functions

The device is also required to have other alarm functions such as electricity power cut alarm, sensor error, network offline alarm, etc.

COEUS-WIFI temperature & humidity data logger completely meets all the above requirements.

In response to the above requirements for medical warehouses, we provided special protocol based on COEUS-WIFI Real-time temperature alarm. The project involved the deployment of nearly 1,000 COEUS-WIFI real-time temperature and humidity data loggers, each device equipped with one 10m-long external temperature and humidity probe, covering multiple critical areas within the warehouse.

The successful bid and implementation of the Indonesian medical supplies warehouse project fully demonstrate COEUS-WIFI's maturity and reliability in the field of remote temperature and humidity monitoring for medical storage.

For system integrators, project contractors, and end-users who is looking for real-time temperature and humidity monitoring solutions for medical warehouses, COEUS-WIFI real-time temperature data logger offers a stable, reliable, and easy-to-integrate option. In the future, this solution can also be widely applied to more scenarios such as pharmaceutical warehousing, clinic stores, and public health facilities.
